President’s message 5/2009
Hello to all Tennessee Assembly Members. Let me thank you for your
interest and participation in our group and thanks for taking the time
to check out our web site. It is my hope that this web page answers any
questions you may have about AST or The Tennessee Assembly (TNAST) and
inform you of our upcoming meetings.
If this web page does not help you with your queries or provide
the information you need please feel free to E-mail me or any member of
your board and we will assist you.
I have just returned from the National AST conference in Las Vegas. I
was honored to be introduced at the opening ceremonies of the 40th
anniversary conference as your state assembly President. The Tennessee
delegation represented you at the opening ceremony and all business
meetings. They also participated in meeting with the candidates who
were running for officer and board positions. This process basically
involves “Interviewing” the candidates and judging who
would represent us best on the AST Board.
The Tennessee Assembly was happy to see our immediate past President
Mr. Chris Lee run and be elected to the AST Board of Directors.
Congratulations Chris! You will be a great addition to the Board.
I would like to thank our delegates who represented Tennessee so well.
Toren Bell, Chuck Lane, Donna Henderson, Dennis Stover, Rhonda McQuey
and Trey Wiseman. I would also like to thank them for helping at our
TNAST booth during exhibitor hours.
I was told at conference that Nashville is tentatively the AST
Conference city for the 2013 National Conference. Your board and I will
do everything we can to ensure Nashville is picked!
The 10th annual TNAST conference is in the Works and will be held in
Gatlinburg, March 2010. More information and on line registration will
be coming soon.
The TNAST Board has adopted the American Red Cross as our charitable
organization. We ask that our members volunteer for the ARC in their
area. Regional ARC headquarters can be found on the ARC web page. TNAST
will also present funds to the ARC each year during our annual state
conference.
TNAST will host several regional meetings this year offering our
members as many as six CEU’S per meeting. Please seek this web
page or the Journal for regional meeting dates, times, locations and
contact people.
I am looking for assembly member willing to serve on committees at the
state level. If you would like to serve on a committee please contact
me or any other board member and submit a consent to serve form. Member
participation is what keeps this organization strong. Please help!
Thanks again for your interest and participation in TNAST. I feel our
commitment to our patients is by design and desire. Keep up the great
work!
Regards,
Glen Mullins, CST, CTBS
