TN AST
Membership Report 2009
Members 997
New Members 42
Suspended Members 179
The membership committee has been working hard this year.
We have created a new sub-committee; The Retention & Recruitment
sub-committee. We are also currently working on forming The
Tennessee- Student Association of Surgical Technology (TN- SAST).
We are also working on establishing the Veterans of TN AST.
The Retention
& Recruitment committee will focus on retaining our current members
of the TN AST. This committee will be lead by Tom Walker and
Terrell Lykens, both members of the TN AST board. They will be
contacting members within the state to see where we can best serve them
as an association. They will also be working on increasing our
membership; the more members we have the stronger we are.
The TN-SAST (Tennessee-Student Association of Surgical
Technology) will focus on the students in CAAHEP approved surgical
technology programs. Working under the membership committee,
within the TNAST, They will have their own officers elected by the
students. The TN SAST will also provide a student track during
our annual state conferences. We are hoping this will stimulate
the students to be more involved in their future by serving as
officers, board members and committee members.
The Veterans of TN AST will be established to show our thanks and
appreciation to those Veterans that have served us in the Armed
Forces. We will also be there to help those discharging from
their service to make the transfer into the civilian Operating Room.
For any questions feel free to call or email any of your TN AST
officers or board member. For contact information go to www.tnast.org
